Founded in 1961, Ryotei Tomoto has long been the place Hakodate locals choose for celebrations. Surrounded by sea, mountains, and wide plains, the city is a pantry of great ingredients—morning-caught fish, seasonal Hokkaido produce, and delicate flavors that feel clean and calm. The meal is served kaiseki-style, from small starters to dessert, each course thoughtfully paced and quietly beautiful. What makes it a “ryotei” is the whole setting: the tableware, the architecture, and the garden-like atmosphere that frames every bite. It’s a one-minute walk from Horai-cho streetcar stop.
